NEWSLETTER 2
Please don’t expect newsletters quite so frequent (last one was only a fortnight ago) but I really must say how proud I was of the display at the Lord Whiskey Animal Sanctuary on Saturday 12th June. It wasn’t perfect but then in a way it was, as it perfectly exemplified the aims and objectives of our training club. Dogs were well behaved, obedient but still retained that essential canineness of living for the moment.
Mick and Maisie were faultless as was Roger with Ben and Lucy but I must say my chest expanded when Lou and Christine walked around the arena with Sadie and Basil. Another first was young Chris taking the Intermediate class with enough confidence to wave to the crowd - a born performer!
Thank you all so much for making the effort to attend.
A Cocker Spaniel breeder attended the show (Basil and Rufus’s first mum) and she was delighted with the way her little boys performed as she said it is not often you see Cockers in obedience displays. She is a little wary of Dobermans so we introduced her to Zack and now she thinks she has changed her mind!
The organisers have asked me to extend their heartfelt thanks for a refreshingly different display and also asked that we book the date in our diaries for next year, 2nd Saturday in June.
As promised here are the dates we are unable get onto the field:
18th July
8th August
22nd August
29th August
26th September
Those of you who have needed the ‘Training Programme’, can I remind you that it will not be effective if you pick and choose the items. They have all to be done in the correct sequence and rigidly enforced until behaviour has been modified. It is of paramount importance that the dog sees you as the Alpha Leader as quickly as possible. We, the trainers know when you are and when you are not following the programme by the improvements seen on a weekly basis.
