CHRISTMAS DINNER

Stockbury Dog Club 2008 Christmas Dinner was held again in Stockbury village hall and attend by about forty members, family and friends. The table layout was different this year , instead of individual tables they were arranged in a square which later formed a quadrangle for dancing. The meal was the normal Christmas fayre, well presented by our usual caterers and the table decorations this year where provided by the committee members.

Mike Cottell our chairman started the evening by welcoming everybody , then the soup was served and everybody tucked in. Once the pudding had been served it was time for coffee, cheese and biscuits.

Then on to the entertainment which this year was provided by Jane Sharp who sang a range of songs and made the evening go with a swing.

We had a break in the entertainment for the raffle which this year was in Chinese format where you put your tickets in containers next to the prizes you would like to win. The draw got off to crashing start with Nicola getting excited about winning a prize and in her haste to collected it knocked a glass off her table.(video clip available 3mb)

When the various prizes had been one won and collected the excellent entertainment continued.

At the beginning of the entertainment Jane asked for audience participation which she certainly now got from Steve and Tony. (video clip available 6mb)

An enjoyable evening which would not be possible without the work put in before the event so thanks to Anne for doing much of the arranging, also Terry, Brenda, Mick, Joan and Mike for their help and for getting the hall ready together with other members of the committee for supplying the table decorations.
