Stockbury Dog Club

BBQ
(Including AGM)

Held 30th August 2008
at Stockbury Village Hall / Playing Field

This year we combined the AGM and BBQ as the AGM had been delayed due to unavailability of the hall at weekends.
The AGM started prompt at 2:00pm with Mike our chairman opening the meeting.
Reports were given from the chairman, secretary and treasurer. Mike asked if there was anyone else who would like to stand for the committee, no one came forward. Last year's committee were returned enbloc.
No topics were raised from the floor, the meeting closed at 2:15pm.

So on to the BBQ which Brian and Liz had already started on the playing field behind the hall.
When we got there Brian was well under way with his sausages and burgers cooking nicely. Do I see a nice a tray of onions as well?

The tables were then laid out once the gazebo was erected and positioned.

Whilst this was going on Anne was laying out the raffle and not long before tickets went on sale.

Meanwhile Brian and Liz with help from their son Jacob were doing a sterling job with the cooking, laying out the prepared salad etc..

More people were arriving, making the most of the sunshine, having a chat. Brian called out the food was ready and the sausages, burgers and rolls started to be consumed.
A quick look round and head count revealed that forty five adults and two children were busy enjoying themselves. Then on to the array of desserts.

After the food Anne organised the drawing of the raffle. With the prizes distributed more time to put the world to rights.

With the BBQ coming to a close time for Mick and Mike to relax and survey another successful social event organised by the club.

Thanks to all who came and supported the event, to Mick, Brenda and Anne for organising the raffle, to all those that helped make the day a success, and a BIG BIG thank you to Brian and his family for doing the food.
